According to superstition, a rainy wedding day is a good omen. If there’s any truth to that, Melody and Andrew are in for a lifetime of wedded bliss.

The couple, who met at Clemson University, tied the knot at Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church followed by a reception down the road at Magnolia Plantation. “Charleston has so many beautiful venues, but Magnolia Plantation captured the Southern romantic charm we wanted,” Melody says. “We just loved the setting with the oak trees, gardens and the river next to the carriage house.”

The rustic venue offered a dramatic contrast to the wedding’s elegant ivory-and-beige color scheme. The bridal party’s bouquets, created by Branch Design Studio, were full of white peonies accented with hints of pink, and the tables were set with clusters of delicate white flowers and cotton branches in vintage glassware. The bridesmaids’ champagne-colored, beaded gowns stood out beautifully against the lush greens of the grounds.

Friends and family enjoyed a post-ceremony cocktail hour with drinks from Squeeze, mingling in the carriage house and outside by the fire pit lit by café lighting. After the bridal party was announced, the newlyweds made their entrance, shared their first dances and cut the cake (designed by Alyssa Channell) before the stations were opened for dinner. The Southern-inspired menu from Mosaic included barbecue sliders, shrimp ‘n’ grits, and mac ‘n’ cheese, all presented on vintage wooden stands and boxes to match the decor.

After a night filled with socializing and dancing to the sounds of Epic Charleston, guests made their way outside to give Melody and Andrew a proper send-off. The couple strolled through a tunnel of sparklers to reach their getaway car, a white Rolls Royce, then waved goodbye to their family and friends as they drove off into the night.
