WITH CHARLESTON’S LUXURY HOUSING MARKET CONTINUING TO THRIVE and drawing homebuyers from across the country, homeowners and real estate professionals are placing greater emphasis on interiors that feel both elevated and deeply livable. Into that landscape steps Linden Creek, the luxury home staging and interior design firm now expanding its footprint into Charleston and the surrounding Lowcountry. Already established and respected in 23 studios in six other states, the company brings a blend of staging expertise, custom interior design services and a curated furnishings retail shop tailored to the region’s distinctive coastal aesthetic and growing demand for move-in-ready luxury homes.
The Charleston team is led by owner and seasoned entrepreneur Michelle Grim and staging and interior design director Shawn Rabideau. Grim, who also owns Linden Creek Greenville, brings her background in engineering, marketing and real estate investment to help local homeowners, builders and real estate agents create and install custom interior designs for new and renovated homes, as well as stage homes that are going on the market. She says that Linden Creek’s process-driven design model is efficient, organized and solution-oriented, providing the kind of results for which luxury homeowners are searching. “Professional staging is no longer optional in this thriving market but necessary to help properties stand out and command stronger price points,” says Grim. “During the staging process, there are a lot of moving parts. We take the time to understand each home from both an emotional and strategic perspective so we can highlight its unique qualities and serve as a true marketing partner to our clients. We approach each staging project with a marketing mindset, serving as an extension of the team to create compelling visibility and highlight the home’s distinctive appeal. Our goal is to ensure our staging services add value so homes sell faster and close to or above their asking prices; we are about more than just making a property pretty.” Linden Creek leaders say the company has a track record of helping homes sell in half the industry’s average time.
Rabideau, who serves as director of staging and interior design for Linden Creek’s Charleston clientele, brings his expertise as an event producer, planner and designer to help clients visualize what their refreshed homes can look like. With more than a decade of experience in the Lowcountry market, he also has designed luxury weddings and special events in New York City, for a total of 26 years of experience. “It was a natural transition to home design,” he says. “Experience in event planning, and its inherent need for quick problem-solving, helps me keep interior design projects moving, getting homeowners into their homes as quickly as possible or getting the homes staged so real estate agents can do their jobs.”
As a recent Linden Creek client says: “They helped us stage a home on Wednesday, and we had a full-price offer on Thursday. They were responsive, professional and have a great eye for design.”
Linden Creek’s design style is elevated but approachable and livable. The company is a trusted partner who understands the emotional and financial dynamics of both the home-selling and home-design processes. Linden Creek works with its clients in a variety of ways: through full-service and hourly consultative interior design services for homeowners, luxury staging of occupied and vacant homes for real estate and building professionals, providing furnishings for short-term rentals for all types of clients, and staging model homes and selecting finishes for homebuilders. Whether staging or designing whole-home interiors, Linden Creek’s goal is to showcase how a home can be beautiful but also functional and livable. While a standalone studio, the Charleston location has the full support of the extensive Linden Creek network behind it.
For those who may not be in the market for a full home redesign, Linden Creek Shoppe offers curated furnishings from its manufacturing partners and “shop the look” vignettes in an online store open to the public. Homeowners can find luxury furniture from brands such as Four Hands and Uttermost, as well as artwork, lighting, textiles, rugs and other accessories, with new products added regularly. “We feature collaborations, such as a current one with a local artist who has painted several pieces for the collection, which we reproduce in oversized and impactful ways,” Grim says. “We also sell Linden Creek pillows designed in transitional, elevated styles that replicate the ones we use in our staged homes.”
Grim encourages homeowners to reach out to explore Linden Creek’s range of design and staging services and draw on the company’s experience staging $1.5 billion in real estate across its portfolio of cities. “We are excited to be working in a market that has architectural diversity and historic homes with unique character,” she says. “We work closely with both homeowners and investment property owners to bring luxury coastal style to their residences. Charleston is one of the most beautiful and dynamic markets in the country, and I’m proud to bring Linden Creek’s proven design expertise to this community. Every home has a story worth telling. My goal is to help agents, builders and homeowners tell theirs in a way that connects with buyers and delivers real results for a powerful return on investment.” *
