Ella W. Richardson Fine Art has been offering exceptional artwork from American and international artists since 2001. The range in its catalogue includes impressionist, realist, contemporary abstract paintings, black-and-white photography, porcelains and jewelry, as well as figurative and wildlife bronzes.
Featured here is a sampling of new impressionist paintings by artist Jeff Jamison. Born in 1958, Jamison grew up in Middle Tennessee, where he became interested in art at an early age. His serious art studies began at Middle Tennessee State University, where he studied pre-engineering and architectural drawing. He later graduated and earned his degree from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale.
Jamison utilizes his skills for drawing and scale and combines them with learned old masters’ techniques, calling his process “controlled chaos.” He infuses a combination of nostalgia and timelessness into his paintings with a contemporary style. This might seem paradoxical, but it is what makes his works so enigmatic. They are beautiful and mysterious, light and carefree, and above all, they invite you to participate with your imagination. The cities he features might be New York or Paris. However, many are in fact the cities of his dreams. Because of the ambiguity of the people and the places in his works, Jamison’s art resonates with most of the gallery’s patrons.
