They say that beauty comes from within, and after an afternoon at CosBar of Charleston, I am tempted to agree. With a new spa freshly installed within the last year and an experienced esthetician to join the ranks of CosBar’s beauty experts, the spa experience keeps improving and helping women put their best faces forward. The Spa at CosBar, which opened last year in their store at 201 King Street, offers luxury treatments using many of the skincare lines available in the retail section of the boutique. Michelle Morgan, the spa esthetician, relaxes clients with an array of services, including citrus peels, botanical facials and more.
My own experience with the CosBar Signature Facial was nothing short of extraordinary. As soon as Michelle’s hands touched my temples I was transported to a place of heavenly quiet and bliss. Luckily, Michelle is knowledgeable about the type of skin she’s dealing with and which CosBar products will bring out a client’s natural beauty.
In addition to talking about products, Michelle explained each step of my facial, from steaming my face (to open my pores up) to exfoliating and moisturizing my skin. Plus, she treats me to a neck, shoulder and décolleté massage. I’m thoroughly relaxed by the end of the process—so relaxed that I don’t care I’m in public with a naked face.
My face isn’t bare for long, however. After my facial, Michelle takes me to the front of the house, where I get my makeup expertly done at the Laura Mercier counter.
“One great part about getting pampered at our spa is that ladies can have their makeup reapplied after facials,” says owner and manager Shelby Davis.
I leave feeling refreshed and looking glamorous. For the ladies of Charleston, the Spa at CosBar is a welcome addition to the city. It’s also a great place to have girls-only events and prep for an evening out.
