HILARIE Lambert and Eleanor Parker have taken full advantage of the Lowcountry landscape by painting en plein air (painting out on location) for a pop-up show May 22–31.
Lambert has been awarded numerous awards nationwide; she participates in plein air events and solo shows and teaches workshops internationally. Her work covers the gamut, from landscapes and cityscapes (Paris and Charleston) to still life and figurative. Her work is sought after for the strong color palette and brushwork each piece contains.
Parker grew up on the waters of the Lowcountry and has raised her family on Shem Creek, with husband, Russ. She is most interested in the sky and its varied light effects on the waters and marshlands, and her work reflects the mood of the landscape.
Opening reception on Friday, May 29, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (with guest artist Sheryl Stalnaker) at 27 Broad St. Open daily 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
