Since opening in 2000, Vinings Gallery has become a renowned destination for art lovers and collectors alike. Co-owned by Gary Handler and Denard Stalling, the gallery is known for its eclectic mix of art, encompassing impressionist, photorealist, pop, whimsical, landscape, abstract, figurative and cityscape styles. Visitors can explore a variety of mediums, from oil, charcoal and acrylic to mixed media, glass, bronze and wood.
Behind these spectacular works are more than 30 local, national and international artists. Local talents such as Thomas Arvid, Simon Kenevan and Chad Awalt hang alongside internationally acclaimed artists like Michael Flohr, Josef Kote, Maya Eventov and Louis Magre. The selection process for new artists is carefully managed by the gallery’s leadership, ensuring that the quality and creativity of the artwork consistently meet their high standards.
One of the gallery’s unique features is its monthly artist shows. “During the show, an artist—and sometimes two of them together—will join us and paint live or demonstrate their technique, engage with collectors and dedicate pieces of their work,” says senior gallery director Liza Rawls. “This unique opportunity for collectors and artists to create a bond ensures a deep connection between the collector and the artwork, and it has proven very successful over the last 25 years.”
In addition, the gallery offers a laid-back, authentic approach to sales, backed by a team with over 100 years of combined experience in the art and gallery industries. Such expertise further strengthens these relationships, making Vinings Gallery a trustworthy and welcoming environment for art enthusiasts and a source of confidence for the artists they represent. “We take very good care of our artists, and they see that in the way we diligently market and present their work and expose them to collectors and the community,” says Rawls. “The Vinings Gallery team is truly passionate about what we do, and creating lasting relationships with our artists is important to us—as is the level of trust we establish.”
As serious as they are about art, the team at Vinings Gallery fosters a casual, fun, lively and colorful atmosphere. “We always have a groovy playlist in the background,” Rawls notes. “There is usually a glass of wine to be found while you’re perusing. It’s a place people feel comfortable, and a place people want to be.”
The gallery also provides personalized services, including in-home consultations, complimentary installation and a highly skilled framing team to ensure each piece finds its perfect home.
